When you call us, we use the following common procedure. The specific details of the recovery and restoration will be unique to every job.
1. Identify the source of the problem and determine the scope of the damage: We conduct a detailed exam using specialized moisture detection meters, probes, and sensors to determine the location and extent of damage.
2. Evaluate your carpeting: Damaged carpeting may be able to be dried in place, dried off site in our facility, or it could be non-salvageable. It’s best to have one of our trained technicians make that decision.
3. Evaluate your flooring: The effect of water on flooring is different for all types of floor covering. Each type of flooring presents special issues regarding potential water trapped under the covering. Our management team uses only the best equipment on the market for detection, and in most cases we can dry it in place using our specialized equipment.
4. Evaluate your walls, ceiling and cabinets: Water intrusion may cause damage not visible in walls and ceilings. To identify the damage and effectively utilize drying equipment, we may at times require the removal of certain wall, ceiling and cabinet structures.
5. Structural drying: When the source of the water has been removed and the determination has been made of what is salvageable, thorough and prompt drying of the affected areas is critical. Our managers regularly monitor the drying process and measure moisture content to assure that all affected areas are properly dried.
